What motivates you to Ride?
My motivation to ride is the hunt for that peak performance deep in the woods, covered in pow, and flying effortlessly with friends, family or in solitude only the mountain can provide. I love to Ride and Im bummed the season is over.
Thats my motivation… I just started reading this book called “Skiing Out Of Your Mind.”
I found it interesting that the first chapter goes straight towards motivation. Alot of people ride with no idea what an amazing thing it is. They spend all day concerned about the cost of the pass or how if they had better gear they would enjoy it more.
They complain about the cold or how uncomfortable their boots are. These people are dwelling on the wrong stuff and are not enjoying everything the experience of speeding down groomers or dropping back county runs has to offer. Your outside on a mountain bigger than anything youve ever seen. The air is fresh. Your moving and experiencing speed, thrills, adrenaline all while being creative with new lines down a dangerous and unknown world.
Next time you go riding dwell on the experience you went up there for in the first place. Take a deep breath and look around. Your in a place, at a time unique to you.
You got seven months to prepare for next season.
